Rooftop Deck at Haus State College

The rooftop at Haus State College is unlike anywhere else in town. With a hot tub and views that hit different, it’s where everyday student living levels up. Cool off, meet up, or just take a breather above it all. You won’t find this experience at any other off-campus apartments near the Penn State University. Take a dip and stay awhile.

What Rooftop Amenities Are Available?

  • Hot tub
  • Lounge chairs
  • Fire pit

Hot Tub and Elevated Views

The hot tub is a central feature of the rooftop, offering a dedicated space for relaxation separate from interior common areas. Its placement on the deck keeps it integrated with surrounding seating rather than isolated in a corner, so conversations can continue between those in the water and those seated nearby. In our PSU off-campus housing, the hot tub remains usable well into the colder months, when outdoor spaces typically see less activity. After walking back from campus in the winter, residents often use it as a way to warm up before heading inside for the night. During busy stretches of the semester, it becomes a low-effort way to unwind after exams or long study sessions without leaving the building.

Lounge Seating and Fire Feature

Lounge chairs are arranged across the rooftop deck to create multiple seating zones rather than one single cluster. The layout allows small groups to gather while keeping clear walkways throughout the space, so the area feels organized even during busy points in the day. A fire pit is installed within the seating area, creating a focal point during evening gatherings. Chairs are positioned around the fire feature to define the space and encourage conversation. As temperatures drop, the fire pit keeps the rooftop comfortable later into the night, turning it into a spot for relaxed conversations, post-game meetups, or low-key study breaks outdoors.
